About The Position

The Manager, Operations - In-Plant serves as the primary on-site leader for all operational activities at the customer facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for ensuring seamless daily execution of packaging, warehousing, and logistics in direct alignment with customer expectations. The manager is entrusted with fostering a safety-first environment, enhancing productivity, and driving continuous improvement, all while strengthening the strategic partnership between our company and the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (preferred).
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in a Manufacturing, Packaging, or Warehousing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong operational leadership skills, including experience managing within a customer-facing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer partnership and team leadership.
  • Familiarity with P&L fundamentals, project execution, and performance tracking.
  • Working knowledge of ISO, OSHA, DOT, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfortable learning new systems or customer platforms.
  • Strong time management, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Capable of working in varied temperatures and environmental conditions within the facility.
  • Physically able to lift and move up to 55 lbs and perform tasks involving kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of daily operations within the customer facility, including packaging, shipping & receiving, dispatch, inventory control, and material staging.
  • Build and maintain strong on-site customer relationships through consistent communication, proactive problem-solving, and superior service execution.
  • Supervise and develop on-site team members, including Leads and Supervisors, promoting performance accountability and a culture of inclusion and collaboration.
  • Champion all safety, health, and environmental initiatives in accordance with corporate policy and the customer’s site standards. Lead JSAs, hazard assessments, and incident investigations as needed.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources for staffing, onboarding, and training needs, ensuring that all team members meet both internal and customer operational expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Team and customer stakeholders to ensure products and processes meet rigorous quality standards. Conduct audits and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) through root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Monitor equipment and facility conditions in partnership with maintenance teams and customer contacts; ensure timely repairs and upkeep.
  • Ensure accurate, on-time execution of customer orders and delivery schedules while achieving key operational benchmarks.
  • Use tools such as Power BI, Shop-Logix, or customer-specific systems to analyze KPIs and optimize performance through data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput without compromising safety or quality.
  • Manage supply inventory, initiate purchase requisitions, and oversee cost control measures within the in-plant site.
