CoreCivic is currently recruiting for a Manager of Security located at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN. This is a hybrid position with up to 75% travel and will require relocation to the Brentwood, TN office location. The Manager, Security is the subject matter expert responsible for providing advice and guidance on matters of correctional security for the assigned Business Unit. This includes hands on training, oversight and follow-up of all security practices, procedures and systems in support of company policies, goals and objectives. Serves as technical resource on all matters of institutional security, to include the development and delivery of training to facility management. Serves as the subject matter expert in the development, implementation and compliance with CoreCivic security policies and procedures; provides recommendations for revision to policy to meet correctional standards, as necessary. Responds and assists in operations to institutional emergencies or other facility or CoreCivic needs, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Serves as technical resource to first responders during incidents and facility emergencies. Assesses, evaluates and analyzes risk matrix, and incident and intelligence data in order to identify threats or risks and provide recommendations to facility and FSC management to improve security operations. Provides advice and guidance to FSC and TransCor leadership on matters related to headquarters security. Participates in the study of emergency management; evaluates and makes recommendations for improving the efficiency and quality of the security and emergency preparedness function. Conducts audits, security assessments, facility reviews and investigations to evaluate compliance with emergency response protocols and security policy and procedures. Provides advice and guidance to Partnership Development, Real Estate, Work Force Management, and Legal in the preparation of responses to RFP's, RFI's, or other potential business solicitations. Assists with facility staff development and provides training on security related matters. Evaluates and assesses facility security equipment needs and makes recommendations, as needed. Reviews and assesses facility capital expenditure security needs for budgeting purposes. Provides recommendations and input into physical plant design, upgrades and changes as related to facility security needs. Frequent domestic U.S. travel is required.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social or Behavioral Science or a closely related field is required.
  • Three years of professional correctional security management work experience, including one year of supervisory experience is required. Additional work experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Certification as an Incident Command System (ICS) Instructor Trainer along with completion of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) professional development series in emergency management is required within the first year of employment in the position.
  • Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the practices and principles of security management, pertinent corrections laws, rules and regulations, and the principles and practices of supervision and training.
  • Frequent travel is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
