About The Position

The Manager of Security is a member of Congreso’s People & Culture department and manages Congreso’s Reception & Security Department functions, initiatives, and activities across the two facilities, promoting, implementing, and directing a welcoming culture of positive experience and safety. This position plans, manages, and continuously evaluates the reception and security operations of the facilities. The Manager of Security is responsible for contributing to and instituting comprehensive strategies and policies set by senior leadership, that focus on high-quality, effective results. Additionally, the Manger ensures optimal utilization of resources, in accordance with Congreso’s policies and procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements and other relevant guidelines, including but not limited to federal, state, and local guidelines and ordinances. This position reports to the Vice President of People & Culture. This is an onsite position. The Manager of Security applies the principles of the organization’s signature service delivery approach, Primary Client Model (PCM™), by promoting a positive employee/client-focused experience that is appreciative of the unique strengths, values and needs that each individual brings; and by using data to inform and drive decision making. Requirements

Basic understanding of Congreso’s mission, values, DEI&B vision, Mission2Impact, Primary Client Model, programs, and services.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the community needs and demographics.
Ability to understand, acknowledge, and assess client needs to provide a timely, trauma informed approach in service.
Ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information and understanding for issues such as confidentiality, domestic abuse, child abuse, and mandated reporter requirements.
Adheres to all Congreso, departmental, programmatic, and security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Attends all Congreso trainings and in-services as required, including relevant professional groups to maintain professional, requisite knowledge and licensure.
Attends, participates, and facilitates relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals.
Ability to effectively use standard office equipment, including a variety of common software programs such as Office365, UNIDAD, and other customized databases.
Follows through on assignments, works in a timely manner, within established deadlines, and completes special projects specific to the function of the department, as needed or as directed by supervisor.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups, in a compassionate, courteous, and respectful manner that fosters an inclusive environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including effective and respectful communication with individuals and groups.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal skills required.
High school diploma or GED/HISET required.
At least 3 years’ experience in Safety and Security Administration, Law Enforcement, or related field.
Demonstrated supervisory experience, required.
+40-hour Domestic Violence Advocate training required and may be completed post hire.
Act 126 Mandated Reporter training required and may be completed post hire.
A valid State motor vehicle driver’s license. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in Public Safety, Security Administration, Law Enforcement, or related field a plus.
Advanced training or certification in safety and security a plus.
Knowledge of the Latino and urban community of Philadelphia.
Current or willing to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

Leads risk management andemergency response, including after-hours incidents.
Investigates security incidents, liaises with law enforcement and emergency partners.
Monitors and reports on securtiy data; recommends prevention strategies.
Conducts safety and emergency preparedness inspections, ensuring OSHA compliance.
Oversees daily Reception & Security operations and coverage across two facilities.
Supervises, trains, and coaches security and reception staff, ensures policy compliance.
Maintains securtiy systems (employee ID badging and BRIVO) and equipment.
Evaluates and imrpoves staff training programs and operational efficiency.
Partners with internal teams nad external agencies to advance safety and emergency preparedness initiatives.
Builds relationships with law enforcement, emergency management and community partners.
Facilitates agency-wide safety, security, and emergency preparedness training programs.
Implements and monitors security and emergency preparedness policies; recommends improvements.
Reviews and updates standard operating procedures for complaince and best practices.
Manages program budget and ensures fiscal responsibility.
Delivers high-level customer service and participates in meetings as required.
