About The Position

The Quality Manager leads the Quality Department in driving excellence in clinical measures, outcomes, and patient care through the development, implementation, and oversight of quality systems and initiatives. This role ensures compliance with internal and external quality standards, manages data-driven decision-making processes, and collaborates across departments to optimize workflows, reporting, and staff training. The Quality Manager serves as a subject matter expert, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, patient engagement, and operational efficiency while maintaining alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare quality management, including familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., HRSA, CMS, NCQA).
  • Proven expertise in data-driven decision-making, quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean), and performance measurement tools.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering strong relationships with staff and management.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of interdepartmental processes within healthcare organizations.
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Commitment to staying current with healthcare quality trends and advancements.
  • Familiarity with healthcare quality measures, including Patient Centered Medical Home standards.
  • Expertise in managing change and addressing resistance to new processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex quality measures and workflows to drive improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, oral, analytical, and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Must treat work as confidential and proprietary.
  • Must have current driver’s license and ability to be commercially insured and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with Axis commercial insurance agency.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or similar certification (e.g., CHQO) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the evaluation, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Clinical Quality Plan, including quality reviews, action plans, staff training, and communication, in conjunction with the VP of Population Health.
  • Provides leadership as the subject matter expert on quality, developing improvement plans based on data and feedback sources. Ensures teams have clarity around quality goals, priorities, and deadlines, contributing to organizational objectives while optimizing day-to-day operations.
  • Manages all quality measure and outcome reporting for internal KPIs and external requirements, including HRSA, CMS, NCQA, and other contractual obligations. Ensures accurate and timely submission of key data reports to external entities, partnering with Data, BI and Finance teams as needed.
  • Collaborates with Compliance and Risk Management to address overlapping issues, particularly quality improvement activities tied to corrective action plans from clinical care audits.
  • Leads the Patient Advisory Council, Patient Satisfaction Survey, and other patient feedback initiatives throughout the year to enhance patient experience and engagement.
  • Leads or represents the organization on multiple Quality Committees, ensuring relevant quality initiatives are discussed and addressed effectively.
  • Actively ensures effective communication of quality goals and initiatives across teams, providing training and resources to support staff in achieving quality objectives.
