We are currently seeking a full-time Manager of Engineering for the 1 st Shift (6:30am – 3:00pm) at our Ketema facility in El Cajon, CA. What Does the Job Involve? The Manager of Engineering leads and supervises a team of manufacturing engineers engaged in manufacturing process development, production support, and tool design/planning. Schedules and prioritizes individual team members’ workload based on operational requirements and personnel skills/ability. Reviews and approves customer supplied product designs (including any design changes) for compliance with engineering principles, organizational standards, and industry/customer specifications requirements. Supports quoting and estimating activities related to new business development. Supports continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Kaizen events) to maintain and improve cost, quality and delivery metrics. Interfaces closely with the Quality and Operations team members to maintain and improve company procedures and work instructions. Plans and manages the introduction of new products into regular production from receipt of purchase order through concurrent engineering with customer’s product design teams, Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP), and full rate.
