The position offers growth, flexibility and a collaborative work environment. This role leads a team of Data Product Managers to translate firm strategy and business needs into well defined, governed, and high-value data products that power analytics, applications, and AI use cases across the enterprise. Acting as a people leader and product steward, the Manager of Data Product coaches talent, shapes product strategy, and aligns roadmap priorities with stakeholder outcomes in close partnership with Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Operations, and business partners. The role ensures data products are clearly defined, discoverable, secure, and fit for purpose, while championing data governance, quality, privacy, and usability standards.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, product management, or related disciplines.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.

  • Prior experience leading or mentoring product, analytics, or data-focused teams preferred.

Responsibilities

  • People Leadership & Talent Development
  • Recruits, onboards, mentors, and develops a blended team of Data Product Managers and analysts.
  • Cultivates an inclusive, collaborative culture that values product thinking, customer empathy, and continuous learning.
  • Aligns team skills, interests, and capacity with business priorities; removes impediments so data products are delivered on time and with measurable value.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership
  • Owns and evolves the vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned data product domains.
  • Partners closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineering, and Data Architecture to identify opportunities where data products can drive measurable outcomes.
  • Shapes, sequences, and continuously re-evaluates product backlogs to ensure alignment with firm strategy, regulatory needs, and client commitments.
  • Data Product Definition & Lifecycle Management
  • Defines clear data product contracts, including purpose, consumers, success metrics, SLAs, and lifecycle expectations.
  • Ensures data products are well-documented, discoverable, and supported by appropriate metadata, definitions, and usage guidance.
  • Guides products from ideation through delivery, adoption, iteration, and retirement.
  • Governance, Quality & Trust Enablement
  • Champions data governance, quality, security, and privacy practices in partnership with Data Governance and Data Operations.
  • Ensures data products comply with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and data standards.
  • Partners with engineering and operations to define quality expectations, acceptance criteria, and stewardship workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serves as the primary product counterpart to Data Engineering delivery teams, clarifying intent and priorities while enabling technical autonomy.
  • Coordinates with peer Data Product managers to ensure consistency in standards, processes, and product taxonomy across domains.
  • Collaborates with Analytics, AI/ML, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure data products are usable, scalable, and trusted.
  • Operational Readiness & Value Realization
  • Ensures data products are production-ready, with clear ownership, support models, and success metrics.
  • Tracks adoption, usage, and value KPIs to inform prioritization and continuous improvement.
  • Communicates product performance, risks, and trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership.
