About The Position

The Manager of Contracting is responsible for the end-to-end management of assigned accounts, including contracts, enrollments, and accounts receivable recovery. This role supervises a small team of contracting specialists and serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. The Manager ensures timely execution of contracts, accurate data tracking, and compliance with company and facility policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of healthcare contracting experience.
  • Knowledge of managed care laws, regulations, and major payors.
  • Ability to work effectively with payors, facilities, and corporate staff.
  • Experience supervising a small team is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment and applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, modify, and execute contracts for assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with company and facility policies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for referral sources, payors, and internal stakeholders regarding assigned accounts.
  • Complete enrollments for facilities into payor networks for new and existing states.
  • Support accounts receivable recovery efforts and resolve payment issues for patients placed by National Marketing.
  • Maintain and update a rate database for assigned payors and facilities to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Negotiate rates with payors including State Managed Medicaid, Commercial Plans, County Social Services, Dept. of Education, DJJ, Dept. of Health and Welfare, FFS plans, Tribal Reservations, CPS, Tricare.
  • Assist with utilization review needs, including resolving issues related to authorizations for assigned accounts.
  • Supervise and mentor a small team of contracting staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure contracts are updated for new services within assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with business development staff to support volume growth and successful placement outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary and sensitive information.
  • Stay current on managed care trends and changes, ensuring assigned facilities are compliant and informed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
