About The Position

This role maintains overall responsibility and provides direction, coordination, and consultation for Child Life and Music Therapy programs. It involves collaborating in the development and support of roles that augment provided services, managing budgets, promoting and supporting community partnerships, and staying current with evidence-based practices, trends, and competencies. The manager utilizes metrics to demonstrate program impacts and serves as a leader in advocating for patient and family centered care. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Child Life or Music Therapy
  • Child Life or Music Therapy Certification
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, including clinical documentation systems
  • Demonstrated organization, leadership, management skills, and professionalism
  • Demonstrates the competencies as outlined in direct reports
  • Demonstrates high emotional intelligence, critical thinking skills, and cultural competency
  • Ensures programming is inclusive, promotes development, belonging, and collaborative spirit for all team members
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key partners
  • Five years of supervisory and program leadership experience
  • Experience working in a variety of clinical settings and with broad spectrum of populations
  • Experience in personnel supervision and team development and expansion

Responsibilities

  • Develops visionary goals that align with strategic goals, implements actions, monitors, and reports out progress.
  • Collaborates with key programs that have parallel professionals.
  • Manages processes, policies, programs, and resources related to Child Life and Music Therapy services and acts as a resource to promote alignment with standards and requirements.
  • Assists in developing and managing annual budgets, department decision making, and cross-coverage support.
  • Identifies areas for involvement and collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and optimization of programs.
  • Creates and establishes programs based on evidence-based practices that support psychosocial needs.
  • Leads recruitment and onboarding for direct reports and assists with indirect reports as needed.
  • Trains, supervises, sets expectations, and evaluates team members, providing coaching and development.
  • Engages on hospital wide committees, multidisciplinary teams, task forces, and professional organizations.
  • Provides professional presentations, engages in networking and research, and promotes leadership development.
  • Creates tools and utilizes data for decision making, communications, and to support other program development and functions.
