The music therapy intern program is a PAID internship that provides intense working experience in music therapy. We place an emphasis on candidates with a strong background in cultural awareness and issues related to equity and diversity. We are interested in supporting students while working from an equity lens, and are committed to educating and supporting students who reflect the diversity of the patients and families we serve. Music therapy interns develop and provide music therapy interventions under supervision of a Board Certified Music Therapist at Children's MN. Music therapy is an evidence-based allied health profession that uses the clinical applications of music to meet individualized non-musical goals. These goals could be physical, cognitive, emotional, or social. At Children’s Minnesota, patients are seen for individual, group, or family music therapy sessions.
