About the team: The team provides centralized support for planning, forecasting, and analytics within Walmart Merchandising. It drives business plan execution by identifying operational needs, setting priorities, and ensuring performance standards. Through data analysis and strategic initiatives, the team promotes continuous improvement and operational excellence. Collaboration across functions enables accurate insights and informed decision-making. Team members lead projects, manage resources, and uphold company policies. This group plays a crucial role in advancing merchandising goals by delivering effective business support and analytical expertise aligned with Walmart’s objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in data analysis, business intelligence, and financial forecasting to support merchandising decisions.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and automation tools to develop actionable insights and dashboards.
  • Experience managing moderately complex category forecasts, budgeting, and profit and loss tracking.
  • Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence through data-driven storytelling and presentations.
  • Skilled in developing and executing strategic initiatives based on analytics and market trends.
  • Demonstrated capability to support negotiation and vendor analysis with relevant financial inputs.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and adoption of digital tools to enhance business outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or related field and 2 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area. OR 4 years' experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial and analytical support for supplier negotiations, highlighting risks and key inputs.
  • Develop and maintain department and category-level financial forecasts, including profit and loss tracking.
  • Collaborate with merchant partners to analyze feature execution, product development impacts, and assortment strategies.
  • Drive data-driven insights using visualization tools to influence category and omni-channel strategies.
  • Lead markdown management and vendor analysis to support business planning and negotiations.
  • Prepare and present financial metrics and reports for leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements through automation and advanced analytics.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
