About The Position

The Marketing Strategy Manager for HBO Max Originals Marketing is a culturally fluent, big-idea-driven global marketer who will assist in the 360-campaign development for title-level campaigns for original series like Harry Potter and The White Lotus. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, audience, and cultural impact – while laying the foundational elements for cross-functional teams with heightened areas of focus in campaign planning, insights, social strategy, brand partnerships, promotions, stunts, and owned/earned/paid media. In addition to developing long lead go-to-market campaign strategies, you will manage day-to-day campaign execution (pre, in, and post-season) to deliver breakthrough integrated global marketing campaigns. This position will report to the Vice President, Originals Marketing.

Requirements

  • 7+ years content marketing experience, driving interest, viewing and engagement for TV series and/or films
  • Possess a sincere love for streaming entertainment, television, movies, and storytelling; fan of Harry Potter a big plus
  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute go-to-market plans that meet the HBO standards of creative and executional excellence
  • Strong written and verbal communication and effective presentation skills and collaborative, team player mentality are a must
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills
  • Experience with developing and executing experiential activations
  • Experience with paid and social media campaign planning
  • Experience with developing and executing brand partnerships programs
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative competitive analysis, including knowledge of robust media landscape and programming
  • Understanding of the current dynamic entertainment landscape, competitive creative campaigns and consumer trends
  • Experience with Photoshop, Google Slides, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve strategic framework title-level campaigns, informed by data, audience & research insights.
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional team leads across creative, social, brand, PR, media, in-app, product, research, legal, international and distribution/partner marketing to ensure campaign strategies ladder-up to broader campaign objectives.
  • Support Directors and Marketing Strategy Leads in managing external agencies and internal creative partners in the development of experiential activations, promotions, partnerships, in-app campaigns, CRM efforts, paid media, and social strategy.
  • Key partner in paid media strategy and planning, including identifying platforms/channels that align with audience strategies and managing creative and editorial placement strategies and partnership executions.
  • Develop social strategies in line with broader campaign objectives to drive and foster communities and fandoms for our shows online, leaning into social insights, platform best practices, and innovation.
  • Develop influencer/creator strategies to reach and engage relevant fan segments.
  • Contribute to, build upon, and help facilitate big ideas (promotions, earned media stunts, activations, partnerships) that breakthrough in a cluttered, competitive consumer landscape.
  • Take bold swings with creative ideas grounded in strategy and insights.
  • Manage external agencies that execute stunts, experiential promotions, and consumer experiences including day-to-day communication, production timelines, asset trackers, budgets, etc.
  • In partnership with Ad Sales, Consumer Products, Production (as needed), support the execution of all partnerships and promotions with third-party brands across our distribution pipeline to drive viewership and broaden the reach of the marketing campaign.
  • Craft and present marketing campaign decks that communicate pitches, big ideas, and go-to-market plans for numerous stakeholders.
  • Evaluate campaign performance across multiple KPI’s with a deep understanding of analytics and how performance metrics inform and adjust strategies, providing actionable recommendations throughout the campaign lifecycle.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with strong project management, communication, and organization.
  • Assist with invoicing/budget tracking across campaigns and other team initiatives
