About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will act as the primary Operations Leader to oversee a design project from prototype to full-scale high-speed manufacturing within the Camden site. They will work with Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, and Sector Resources to align manufacturing capabilities with the program need. This is a key role in the transition of this project from development and prototyping through testing into high-rate production. This individual will report directly to the Operations Division leader and have dotted-line reporting to the Program Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain security clearance
  • Knowledge of ISO9001:2015; AS9100D and QMS adherence
  • Aerospace & Defense electronics experience, high speed factory experience a plus
  • Experience managing a cross-functional Operations team
  • Working knowledge and experience in Earned Value Management and/or comprehensive estimate-at-complete (EAC) establishment and analysis
  • Working knowledge and experience in manufacturing labor standards (hours-per-unit) establishment and analysis
  • Experience in the following fields of Operational Excellence:
  • Understanding of lean principles around pull systems, mix/max controls, etc.
  • One Piece Flow or Pull System manufacturing flow
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • 5S+1 Visual Factory
  • Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP)
  • Gemba implementation
  • Demonstrated MRP/MES System adherence

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing schedules, daily execution, and reporting status to Operations and Program Leadership
  • Work with Technical Leads to Design for Manufacturing. Process feedback from Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams to Program team.
  • Attend Customer meetings and reviews as necessary, and act as Operations Lead during Design Reviews.
  • Facilitate Operations, Manufacturing, and Quality participation in design development to identify and address manufacturability, testability and inspection issues
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Supply Chain, and other functional organizations across the program
  • Lead the organization in the development and implementation of operating philosophies and business strategies
  • Visit other manufacturing sites to review best practices.
  • Develop, implement and sustain success metrics, incorporating best practices
  • Experience with manufacturing of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
