About The Position

As a MANAGER, LICENSING at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you will own and lead licensing-related compliance matters, supporting both gaming and prediction markets regulatory frameworks. Gaming industry experience is preferred, but not required. The Manager will play a crucial role in Fanatics’ efforts to enter new gaming markets and maintain licensing in existing markets, across a complex, multi-jurisdictional regulatory environment. The Manager, Licensing serves as a primary driver of licensing initiatives, partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Operations, HR, Finance, and Technology to enable compliant growth and to help maintain a strong culture of compliance within the Company. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass background checks and obtain required gaming and/or prediction markets–related licenses and registrations, as applicable.
  • 3+ years of applicable prior experience in a legal, compliance, or regulator-facing role, with experience in the sports wagering, iGaming, and/or regulated financial or derivatives markets preferred.
  • Experience communicating with senior executives and government authorities
  • Strong prior drafting experience and project management skills
  • Ability to execute under pressure and under time constraints in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter that enjoys a startup atmosphere
  • Comfortable balancing multiple, competing priorities and changes in scope and direction
  • Have a strong interest in the sports wagering/iGaming and/or regulated financial or derivatives markets space
  • Superb organization and attention to detail skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company’s licensing efforts across gaming and prediction markets jurisdictions for entities, key persons, employees, and vendors, including new jurisdiction launches and ongoing license maintenance, with direct oversight of employee licensing and vendor licensing programs at scale.
  • Lead licensing strategy and execution for launches of new products and new jurisdictions, including jurisdictional analysis, application strategy, timelines, and regulator engagement in support of market entry.Review regulations regularly and ensure team members are up to date on requirements.
  • Hire, train, and manage licensing and compliance professionals responsible for employee licensing, vendor licensing, and jurisdictional licensing operations, and oversee ongoing vendor suitability, licensing status, and regulatory compliance, to improve automation, tracking, audit readiness, and data integrity.
  • Identify and onboard third-party technology providers, regulatory vendors, and outside counsel to improve automation, tracking, audit readiness, and data integrity, and to increase internal efficiencies.
  • Design, implement, and scale licensing-related components of the company’s compliance program.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with state gaming regulators, federal regulators (as applicable), and self-regulatory organizations, including the National Futures Association (NFA); manage regulator inquiries, examinations, investigations, and information requests.
  • Advise cross-functional stakeholders (including Legal, Product, Operations, HR, Finance, and Technology) on licensing implications related to product launches, corporate changes, and organizational growth.
  • Oversee teams handling high-volume employee licensing and vendor management workflows.
  • Act as a licensing subject-matter expert in support of strategic initiatives and executive decision-making, contributing to the development of a leading digital gaming and prediction markets platform.
  • Must be open to occasional travel to Fanatics Betting & Gaming offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team building activities
