Department OverviewThe Manager, Hamburger University Training & Facilitation plays a meaningful role in advancing organizational learning and fostering leadership skills. This position is responsible for delivering impactful training programs that align with corporate priorities, improve operational excellence, and nurture a culture of continuous improvement. The role also includes leading facilitators to ensure consistent, high-quality execution of training for restaurant staff and leadership teams.Duties(Percentages reflect approximate time allocation) Conduct Training Programs (up to 65%) Facilitate engaging, competency-based training sessions primarily for corporate staff and may include delivery for restaurant leaders and staff, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and operational standards. Customize training delivery to meet diverse learner needs and leverage adult learning principles for maximum impact. Supervise and evaluate training efficiency through feedback, performance metrics, and post-training assessments; implement improvements based on data insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new initiatives, technology, and effective strategies into training content. Serve as a subject matter expert on leadership development and operational excellence within the restaurant environment. Manage HU Facilitation Team Lead and mentor a team of 5-6 facilitators, setting clear expectations for delivery quality, learner engagement, and program outcomes. Develop team capabilities through mentoring, performance reviews, and professional development plans. Prioritize effectively to meet training demand across multiple programs and geographies. Ensure consistency in curriculum delivery and adherence to Hamburger University standards. Partner with stakeholders to align team priorities with broader organizational goals and initiatives.   Scope of Position Impact: Leads a team within a corporate sub-function and influences operational direction for training delivery and leadership development. Communication: Explains policies and practices clearly, negotiates solutions, and builds consensus through flexibility and collaboration. Primary audience includes internal collaborators such as corporate teams, franchisees, and restaurant leadership. Interacts with individuals who may hold differing perspectives, requiring diplomacy and problem-solving to achieve shared objectives. Innovation: Continuously improves training methods and delivery models to enhance learner experience and program efficiency. Takes on complex challenges that require cross-functional collaboration and creative solutions. Knowledge: Advanced expertise in learning and development, instructional develop, and leadership facilitation. Ability to integrate theory and best practices with organizational needs to drive measurable outcomes. Team Leadership: Within the direction set forth by the HU Senior Leader as well as in collaboration with fellow HU peer Manager, defines team structure, roles, and performance standards. Geographic Breadth: Focused on single-country operations with an understanding of cultural and business practices relevant to the market.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in training facilitation and/or leading delivery teams.
  • Proven track record in leading learning programs, coaching facilitators, and driving engagement in leadership development initiatives.
  • Chicago-based
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Critical thinking with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Data-driven approach to evaluating and improving training effectiveness.

Nice To Haves

  • experience in a field-facing/consultative role that collaborates with Franchisee influence
  • Certifications in adult learning, instructional design, or leadership development are a plus.
