About The Position

Position Summary: Provides leadership and program management support for site and corporate driven projects such as technology transfers, production conversions, product transitions, facility modifications, and new construction. Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs. This includes program definition, implementation and continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management. Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project. Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project. Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities. Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion. Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends; determine system improvements; implement change. Manage external consultants and suppliers. Work with cross-functional teams made up of Engineering, Operations, and corporate management. Manage various manufacturing regulatory compliance activities, licensing, and certifications. Engage in RPF (Request for Proposal), requirement analysis, vendor selection, negotiation, procurement, and execution. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and at least 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CAD/CAM, MS Project, MS Office proficiency.
  • Experience communicating effectively and negotiating with customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Safe work practices.
  • ISO 9001 quality standards and/ or quality methods.
  • Ability to be on the factory floor for long periods of time, potentially working across all shifts at times.
  • Stamina to work 50+ hours/week to support plant performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Wind blade or other composites experience preferred.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) highly desired.
  • Experience with plant start-ups and implementation of new product introductions.
  • Training in Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing techniques.
