Caterpillar is seeking a Facility Lean Manager in Athens, GA. In this role, you will guide the enterprise lean effort throughout the facility through leading, coaching, and executing lean innovation projects. What you can look forward to in this role: Support a diverse customer base workforce with differing program management needs, providing simultaneous high-end project management services such as resource management and cost management across multiple programs. Strategic leader for the manufacturing operation Oversee multiple program and project managers and the programs they are executing. Ensure professional program management techniques and tools are used to manage programs and projects through coaching and mentoring Develop intercompany networks and execute a communication strategy to assist program managers in obtaining needed resources and cooperation, effectively removing roadblocks to ensure the success of the team. Deploy training and seminars to onsite partners to drive lean procedures to affect cost per unit Subject Matter Expert (SME) for lean tools and lean execution Use Key Performance indicators (Safety, People, Quality, Velocity and Cost) to elevate business performance and employee engagement

Requirements

  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.
  • Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Six Sigma Methodology: Knowledge of the concepts of Six Methodology; ability to use the methodology to improve the processes and procedures and control the improvements by eliminating root causes.

  • Extensive Experience in facility Lean Deployment over multiple value streams
  • Extensive demonstrated communication with facility leadership
  • Demonstrated success in project management and/or 6 Sigma experience
  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in a complex environment including the ability to establish personal networks in addition to leveraging existing relationships.
