About The Position

The Manager, IT Vendor Management – Strategic Partner Program (SPP) is responsible for the end-to-end management and governance of Exelon’s Strategic Partner Program, ensuring consistent performance, financial discipline, contract compliance, and value realization across strategic managed services vendors. This role owns program level execution and vendor relationships for SPP and works in close partnership with the ITVM Center of Excellence, Exelon Supply, IT stakeholders, and strategic vendors to apply enterprise standards, frameworks, and governance while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Own day-to-day SPP program management including governance, scope, and vendor engagement. Serve as primary relationship manager for SPP strategic vendors. Lead contract governance activities including renewals, extensions, and transitions in partnership with Supply. Oversee vendor performance management, financial management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead holistic vendor management practices and quarterly business reviews with SPP vendors. Partner with the ITVM Center of Excellence to apply enterprise standards and playbooks. Regularly engage with Sr IT leaders to address concerns and understand the areas that need improvement. This is a multiple‑location posting. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 7-10 years' experience in IT procurement, sourcing, vendor management, contract management, or related discipline. or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Appropriate technical skills in: analyzing financial, operational, and performance data to support decision making. PMP certification preferred for specific roles as per guidelines established by the IT Project Management Office.
  • Strong knowledge of business practices and processes in enterprise procurement, contracting, governance standards; supporting IT sourcing events, vendor performance management, contract lifecycle activities, communicating and working with vendors
  • Experience leading and managing IT projects or subteams and knowledge of IT project management.
  • Experience leading and managing technical personnel.
  • Strong judgment and excellent analytical ability.
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of IT and business management and with vendors.
  • Experience managing budgets for functional area of responsibility.
  • In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT staff, vendors, and resources in accordance with the IT Business Plan and Strategic Partner Program (SPP) objectives. For projects: plan and manage scope, schedule, and budget for defined deliverables in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations and application maintenance: plan and manage services delivered by internal teams and strategic partners to defined service level agreements at agreed‑upon budgets. (25%)
  • Lead and manage IT projects and associated system integrators and strategic vendors to deliver projects and services of medium to high complexity, ensuring adherence to governance, performance expectations, and contractual obligations. (10%)
  • Operate utilizing standard processes as defined within the Management Model and IT Vendor Management (ITVM) frameworks. Oversee process improvement efforts, continuous improvement initiatives, and adoption of standard operating models, playbooks, and governance processes that deliver sustainable top‑quartile cost and performance levels across internal teams and SPP vendors. (15%)
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with business leaders, IT partners, and strategic vendors. Serve as a key relationship manager, including executive‑level engagement where appropriate, and communicate program, project, financial, and performance status to stakeholders on a regular basis. (15%)
  • Maintain current business and technology knowledge to effectively apply technology solutions and managed services strategies that deliver measurable business results, including interpretation of performance, financial, and service delivery data. (10%)
  • Evaluate performance and provide coaching for IT personnel, and support effective vendor performance management through SLA reviews, KPI and CPI analysis, issue resolution, and escalation management. Participate in career development and succession planning processes, promote diversity, and foster teamwork, collaboration, and a learning organization across internal and partner teams. (10%)
  • Prepare, manage, and oversee budgets for area of responsibility, including financial management related to strategic vendors, forecast accuracy, cost optimization opportunities, and support for business case development for new or changing scope in partnership with IT and Supply. (5%)
