About The Position

McGuireWoods LLP is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Manager, IT Observability & Incident Operations to join our technology leadership team. Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, this individual will be the primary architect of our real-time operational awareness. The successful candidate will lead a 24/7 team while breaking down technical silos to ensure seamless service delivery across all technology environments. Requirements

Minimum of five years in a high-pressure NOC, ITOC, or Cloud Ops environment, with experience in a formal leadership or team-lead capacity.
Strong foundational knowledge of SCOM, SolarWinds, and ServiceNow. Experience navigating the transition from On-Premises hardware to Azure/AWS cloud workloads is highly preferred.
A technical leader who can command the respect of specialized engineering teams while maintaining the operational discipline of a 24/7 shift environment.
Exceptional ability to translate complex technical disruptions into clear, decisive updates for both technical teams and executive leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Responsibilities

Serve as the accountable lead for major incident triage, ensuring clear communication and rapid resolution across internal IT teams.
Direct a 24/7 ITOC staff, fostering a culture of urgency, accountability, and continuous professional development.
Design and implement streamlined escalation paths and operational "playbooks" that reduce risk and improve MTTR.
Lead the evolution of our monitoring philosophy, moving from legacy toolsets (SCOM, SolarWinds) toward modern SaaS and Cloud observability solutions.
Provide IT leadership with precise insights into service availability, capacity trends, and infrastructure health.
