About The Position

Position Summary: The Manager, Infection Prevention RPH & System Data Analytics is responsible for leading infection prevention and control initiatives at Robert Packer Hospital (RPH) while managing system-wide surveillance and data analytics functions. This dual role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, drives data-informed decision-making, and supports organizational strategies to reduce infection risks across all Guthrie entities. Robert Packer Hospital (RPH) is the foundational to The Guthrie Clinic (TGC), and functions as TGC’s primary acute tertiary care academic trauma center. This role combines infection prevention leadership at Robert Packer Hospital (RPH) with system-wide oversight of surveillance and data analytics . The position is responsible for: Coordinating mandated Infection Prevention and Control Program activities at RPH to prevent, detect, and mitigate communicable diseases and infections within acute care and hospital outpatient settings. Leading system surveillance initiatives, standardizing data analytics and visualization, and leveraging these analytics to identify trends, monitor compliance, and inform strategic interventions across all Guthrie entities. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in an applied clinical science (Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, Public Health) is required; Master’s degree is preferred. Must have college-level reading comprehension, college-level writing skills and college-level data analytics skills. Five years of relevant acute care Infection Prevention experience with Certification in Infection Control (CIC). License & Certifications: Registered Nurse if applicable or MT/MLT if applicable Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) Special Skills: Advanced computer and data analysis skills (Excel pivot tables, graphs, statistical interpretation). Understanding of Data Management Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Confident in facilitating conversations across diverse caregiver groups. Excellent organizational skills: ability to prioritize, use good time management and adhere to deadlines as directed. Essential Functions: Manager, Infection Prevention RPH: Assists the System-level Director in educating and leading entry-level infection preventionists. Implements and evaluates the facility’s infection prevention program, conducts annual risk assessments, and ensures compliance with standards from relevant organizations and agencies. Reviews relevant public health issues to integrate into practice, serves as a consultant and resource person regarding infection prevention issues for all facility personnel, collaborates with other healthcare professionals within and outside of the facility, and implements infection prevention education programs. Systematically collects and analyzes healthcare-associated infection data using epidemiological principles and statistical methods to identify trends and risk factors. Conducts outbreak investigations and studies infection trends to determine the sources of infection and creates mitigation plans to contain the spread of disease Participates in daily rounding on nursing units for isolation, hand hygiene/PPE compliance, device rounds and education as needed. Leads interdisciplinary teams in the identification and establishment of infection prevention goals and objectives for quality assurance and performance improvement. Participates in rounding for Environment of Care (EOC)/ICRA and TJC Tracers on a predetermined schedule in all RPH hospital and RPH outpatient departments. Participates in infection prevention education that addresses topics including standards of care, infection risks, evidence-based practices, cleaning and disinfection practices, hand hygiene, and instrument, equipment storage and other infection prevention education as needed. Manager, System Data Analytics : Oversee the standards used systemwide for infection surveillance, data analysis, and data visualization. Oversee NHSN data reporting with the Data Coordinator. Analyzes data to clarify trends, recommend/participate in improvement opportunities. Participate in Systemwide Infection prevention committee and in RPH Infection Prevention Committee and lead standard data visualization for all Infection Committees. Combines monitoring with improvement strategies, evaluates existing regulations and standards, suggests changes based on evidence, and addresses public health concerns within professional practice. Travel to other system entities as needed for orientation, meetings, and education. Participate in assigned committees. Perform related duties, as required. Other Duties Other Duties as Assigned
