Requirements

  • Associate degree in health-related field required. Experience and/or education specific to analyzing epidemiological data, preparing, and publishing reports. Computer skills proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of five (5) year of infection prevention or public health settings experience. Bachelor’s Degree in health-related field and 2 years of infection prevention or public health settings experience may substitute for the experience requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Infection Prevention and Control Certification (CIC) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and provide IP data based on local, state, and federal recommendations as well as regulatory and nationally recognized guidance organizations related to Orlando Health’s Infection Prevention program.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the latest CDS, CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other state regulatory data requirements.
  • Serves as subject matter expert in data analysis associated with infection prevention as well as quality/performance improvement efforts that reduce the risk of infection.
  • Complete data analysis and provide as appropriate to key stakeholders across Orlando Health.
  • Support IP staff to produce data-based work product analyzed in accordance with epidemiological principles and methods, creating related presentations for use to present to hospital and medical staff leaders.
  • Serve as the departmental liaison for the infection prevention module within EPIC (ELLiE).
  • Assists clinicians and administrators with the identification and realization of clinical and service improvement opportunities to improve patient outcomes and optimize the patient experience in a cost-effective manner.
  • Uploads and reports all required NHSN data and keeps IC staff, aware of the changes in NHSN definitions and requirements.
  • Prepare and report as the departmental representative to outside reporting agencies such as NDNQI, Leapfrog, and Premier
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
  • Represents Infection Prevention as a data subject matter expert on committees and providing metrics for process improvement activities as assigned.
  • Participates in infection prevention associated team activities to ensure understanding of current states and needs of the organization.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health policies and procedures, value statements, and Commitment to Excellence Standards.
  • Actively seeks learning opportunities related to Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
