About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the "Career and Workforce" initiative, aiming to support student success outcomes through technology tools such as Symplicity. The role involves overseeing the functionality, adoption strategy, and user experience of institutional career outcomes and engagement data to inform strategic planning, operational effectiveness, and institutional reporting. Key responsibilities include integrating job market data into the student experience by collaborating across teams to embed relevant data into career planning tools, workshops, course-based activities, and digital content. The manager will monitor engagement analytics, user behavior trends, and platform utilization to refine workflows and adoption strategies. Additionally, the role directs the work of indirect and direct reports, supports the university's visibility, and manages vendor relationships for assigned technologies, ensuring system updates, monitoring health, and promoting data-informed usage. The manager serves as a primary point of contact for faculty and staff within the Division portfolio and campus to support initiatives related to student success, departmental goals, experiential learning, professional development, and post-graduation outcomes, utilizing tools like the UF Graduation Survey and other dashboards. This support includes presentations, workshops, and office hours. The position also entails creating internal resources and delivering training for faculty and staff, building relationships across departments, establishing internal best practices, and recommending system enhancements based on data and user feedback. Data tracking and reporting for assessment, usage, service participation, and impact demonstration are crucial, including creating regular reporting structures and summaries for leadership. The manager is expected to stay updated on career development trends, provide individual and group career coaching to University of Florida students and alumni, facilitate customized outreach and presentations, and engage with campus partners to promote student success and professional development programming. Administrative duties, attending meetings, and supporting departmental events are also part of the role, all while upholding unit and institutional values.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a point of contact for faculty and staff in the Division portfolio and campus to support initiatives to aid student success, departmental goals, experiential learning, professional development engagements, and post-graduation outcomes using tools like the UF Graduation Survey and other dashboards.
  • Creates internal resources and delivers training that equips faculty and staff to effectively integrate assigned initiatives into programs, workshops, and 1:1 engagement.
  • Builds relationships and creates connections across departments to advance the university's overall mission.
  • Maintains regular communication with portfolio partners through appropriate channels and attends meetings with staff at all levels for the exchange of information and integration into programs and services.
  • Establishes internal best practices, and support to CIP staff, and recommends system enhancements based on data and user feedback.
  • Tracks data and reporting related to job functions and engagement responsibilities.
  • Maintains and exchanges quantitative and qualitative data for assessment, reporting, usage, service participation, and reporting purposes to demonstrate impact for departments.
  • Creates regular reporting structures and summaries to highlight trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and support decision-making for leadership.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of career development trends and best practices.
  • Provides individual and group career coaching services to University of Florida undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from all majors and colleges; at times also supporting alumni.
  • Facilitate customized outreach, classroom presentations, and tabling opportunities associated with the assigned initiative area and related career development topics in support of the center’s strategic plan.
  • Engages with campus partners (i.e., alumni, staff, faculty, employers, families) to promote student success, interventions, readiness tools and professional development programming.
  • Use existing foundational departmental and marketing resources for customization of programs and initiatives, as needed.
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the Director and higher authorities in the department and division.
  • Attends departmental sessions, staff meetings and one-on-one supervision meetings to ensure clear communication with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Support department, portfolio, and/or division-wide all-hands-on-deck events, committees and programs.
  • Lives out unit and institutional values in all aspects of job function.
