About The Position

The Center is seeking an experienced Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to join the Finance team to assist with financial planning and budget management for the organization. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis will support the director in managing the Center’s Financial Planning and Analysis team with preparation of the organizational budget, internal and external reporting, and billing activities while adhering to strict grant management compliance. The candidate should be someone with experience working in the nonprofit financial field, has high energy and curiosity about the Center’s work and a talent for translating financial concepts to non-financial staff. The candidate should have strong interpersonal communications skills, a strong aptitude for data, financial analysis, and technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or other related fields
  • At least 5-7 years of demonstrable experience including supervisory experience and success in nonprofit financial management preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is crucial to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Capability to work independently and prioritize tasks to ensure the timely completion of projects
  • Ability to handle sensitive information which requires maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of project grants, budgets, revenue, expenditures, and contract compliance
  • Supervise a team of analysts with day to day responsibility for project grants, budgets, revenue, expenditures, and contract compliance
  • Work closely with government agencies, private funders, and other outside stakeholders
  • Provide financial review and approval of the Center’s revenue and expense contracts
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual close and identify adjusting journal entries as need
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, expense reports, and corporate card reconciliations
  • Review and approve invoices to funders
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and facilitate the collection of payment from funders
  • Reconcile receivable accounts
  • Support the Director with financial duties and special projects as needed
  • Additional tasks as necessary
