Manager - Enterprise Systems
About The Position
The Manager - Enterprise Systems, is a hands-on role responsible for leading the technical team that manages the University’s core server and data storage infrastructure. This position balances high-level strategic planning and people leadership with hands-on systems engineering. The Manager ensures that the UITS team delivers highly available, secure, and scalable services across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments while fostering the professional growth of the systems administration staff. Must be willing and able to perform technical tasks and participate in an on-call rotation as needed. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in systems administration, with at least three years in a lead or supervisory capacity
- Expert-level knowledge of and experience with enterprise storage arrays and storage networking protocols
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale infrastructure migration or implementation projects
- Ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious, and professional relationships with team members, other UITS managers, and University leadership
- Exceptional ability to bridge the gap between technical details and executive-level strategy
