About The Position

The Manager, EHS leads the development and execution of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and a zero-incident culture. This role drives strategic initiatives, audits, training, and incident response while partnering with operations to embed safety into daily practices. As a key advisor, the manager influences site direction, supports change management, and champions continuous improvement across all EHS functions.

Requirements

  • Well-developed planning and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize activities, meet commitments, and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor of Science (or country equivalent) in Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant working experience, preferably within a chemical, metal finishing, semiconductor, wastewater treatment, oil and gas, or related industries.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations, including stormwater, air/water, Tier 2 reports, Form R, etc. Extensive knowledge of EPA, OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and other governmental regulations and laws.
  • Strong track record of submitting permits, working with regulatory agencies, leading and developing EHS programs, performing audits, JHA, and gap assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience in hazardous materials, emergency response team development, implementation, and administration.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, adept at building relationships with internal and external parties at all organizational levels.

  • Certifications in safety and occupational health are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the team to ensure compliance with the state and federal regulatory agencies and related policies, such as OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.
  • Develop and submit all applicable EHS permits, Forms, and reports to EPA, Wastewater, Fire Department, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct routine compliance EHS audits/inspections, provide reports and action plans to ensure hazardous conditions or at-risk behaviors are identified and corrected, and employees are following EHS policy and procedures.
  • Develop and conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for different operations, communicate identified risks, and provide solutions, control measures, and action plans for addressing the risks.
  • Meet the goal of Zero injuries and accidents to the employees and contractors by establishing a generative safety culture and EHS management systems.
  • Develop insightful actions, suggest recommendations, and influence the direction of the line by effectively working with the site operations and management team.
  • Monitor full implementation of EHS programs, evaluate the effectiveness of the programs using established goals and make recommendations, and plan for corrective action(s) based on industry standards and best practices.
  • Under the direction of the Global EHS Head, develop strategic EHS plans to meet organizational goals.
  • Drive incident investigations and provide corrective and preventive actions to prevent the recurrence of the incidents.
  • Provide specialized EHS expertise for the facility, particularly concerning new projects and change management endeavors.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver training to the new hire and operations employees, EHS programs, policies, and procedures, as well as local and federal requirements and regulations.
  • Monitor and approve industrial hygiene sampling strategies and results.
  • Serves as the primary contact and responds to reports of leaks, spills, and any other release of potentially harmful or hazardous materials.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the EHS programs using established goals, make recommendations, and implement corrective action(s) based on industry standards and best practices.
  • Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Drive and mentor the Safety Committee, communicate action plans, and follow up with action owners.
  • Perform other duties, projects, and initiatives as assigned.
