Global Risk & Compliance (“GRC”) independently oversees the company’s compliance, risk-taking and risk management activities, including the comprehensive identification, management, and mitigation of risks within the Company’s risk appetite. GRC ensures the company operates in a safe, sound and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. The product group within Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) is responsible for building and implementing innovative technology solutions for GRC; owns the vision and roadmap for capabilities, platforms, and modernization efforts. This is a stakeholder facing role that is responsible for process vision and roadmap, customer experience, business architecture, capturing and grooming feature requirements, prioritization, status tracking and reporting, defining process SLAs and controls. The Product Manager leads transformation of risk systems, plays a central role in detailing the blueprint, and works in close partnership with stakeholders in Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) American Express Technologies (AET) as well as external experts to arrive at the best design/solution and oversee its execution. How will you make an impact in this role? Collaborate with engineering teams, Business partners and other stakeholders during product lifecycle. Clearly articulate the why, what, and how of the product or feature to Product Owners and constituents Communicating the vision to broader stakeholders Aligning on action items, owners, and due dates and tracking them to completion. Take lead in Roadmap creation and Requirement gathering. Manage the feature backlog using Agile Scrum methodologies, prioritizing features based on business value and user impact. Translate software product roadmap into minimum viable product iterations. Work closely with the Technology team to develop, test, and deliver the defined user stories for the platform capabilities and features and rapidly iterate new solutions through automation and demo/prototyping. Own and accept all features for assigned scrum team or capabilities. Review/demonstrate sprint-related or general functionality with external partners and customers, including the Director of Product Management and other colleagues. Ensure that the appropriate tracking and reporting is in place to track performance post launch to evaluate future investment. Understand and apply new trends and competitive best practices into requirements and team method of work.
