About The Position

Under the direction of the Director, the Manager of Day Services, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Day Service Option (DSO) program for all individuals served and department staff.

Requirements

  • Must have DDS experience
  • Skilled to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives and manage a budget.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, technical skills and conceptual expertise in the implementation of vocational rehabilitation services.
  • Excellent computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Display good sound judgement.
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
  • Work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or Rehabilitation Therapy related field preferred or Equivalent of Experience and/or Education.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a leadership position required.
  • Experience in a Vocational Rehabilitation setting required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Day Support Options (DSO).
  • Research, Develop, Implement and supervise a comprehensive person centered vocational, educational, community experience program
  • Approve All DSO program Activities.
  • Schedule staff for programs. Supervise all staff assigned to the program site including Community Inclusion Specialists, Case Coordinators, and Operation Coordinators.
  • Provide crisis interventions, individual and group counseling, teaching, and advocacy as needed.
  • Attend Meetings (Clinical, Managers, ECS Leadership, Leadership Meeting, Etc)
  • Conducts documented audits to ensure that DDS, CARF, and Easterseals’ standards are being met i.e. Therap attendance, ISP data and acknowledgement reports.
  • Assist in grant and RFP proposal writing as needed.
  • Develops and maintains a positive relationship with external contract holders and agencies.
  • Creates and generates required program area data and reports monthly.
  • Resource Management: Control operating expenses in compliance with budget. Provide continuous analysis and reports on variations from established budgets.
  • Interview, select and on-board new staff to ensure a successful transition into the department.
  • Provides training consistent with current and future job requirements. Provides hands-on demonstrations, and coaching.  Foster an environment conducive to on-going learning and education.
  • Work closely with schools in the Greater Waterbury area for referrals and transition from high school to Easterseals.
  • Works with Quality Coordinator to intake new referrals
  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategic business and operational financial plans for assigned areas.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
