About The Position

The Manager - Commercial is responsible for driving commercial strategy and growth initiatives across the midstream crude oil value chain, including transportation, storage, and market connectivity. This role identifies, evaluates, and advances new commercial opportunities that enhance asset utilization, improve margins, and strengthen long-term customer relationships. The position works cross-functionally with operations, engineering, trading, finance, legal, and external counterparties to ensure commercial solutions are economically sound and operationally executable. The Manager leads the development and negotiation of commercial agreements such as crude oil supply, transportation, and terminalling contracts. This role assesses market conditions, basin level production trends, and customer needs to support pipeline expansions, connectivity projects, and contract renewals. Responsibilities include building robust economic models, evaluating capital investment opportunities, supporting project sanction decisions, and managing commercial risk to achieve sustainable, value-accretive growth. The ideal candidate brings strong midstream market knowledge, proven negotiation skills, and the ability to translate market intelligence into actionable commercial strategies. Success in this role requires sound commercial judgement, strong stakeholder engagement, and a disciplined approach to portfolio optimization and long-range planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in commercial development, business development, marketing, or commercial roles within the midstream, energy, or crude oil sector.
  • Ability to: communicate effectively orally and in writing in English
  • Ability to: communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, internal and external customers
  • Ability to: work under time pressure, tight deadlines, and interruptions
  • Ability to: use a personal computer with the Windows® operating system to complete timesheets, send and receive e-mail, and access information posted on the Company’s intranet

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and advance commercial growth opportunities across crude oil transportation, storage, and terminalling assets.
  • Lead negotiation and execution of commercial agreements, including transportation, throughput, and terminalling contracts.
  • Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure contracts comply with the applicable laws, tariffs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain detailed economic models to evaluate commercial opportunities, capital investments, and contract terms.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and project execution teams to support commercial justification for capital projects such as expansions, interconnects, and new developments.
  • Provide clear recommendations to leadership on deal economics, risk exposure, and value creation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with producers, refiners, traders, and other midstream counterparties.
  • Responsible for employee development and evaluations, establishing goals, providing counseling, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Ensure employees are held accountable for performing job responsibilities.
