Position Summary: Seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Finance Business Partner to support a GM in the US-CAN Commercial Organization to drive short- and long-term strategic goals and priorities. This candidate will act as a trusted partner and influence District Managers, and Strategic Account Managers on financial planning, budgeting, investment priorities, strategy and policy matters. This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, with an expectation of 2-3 in-office days per week and additional on-site presence as needed. The individual must reside in the San Diego area and be able to commute to our corporate offices.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 8 years of related experience, preferably in a high growth environment, or large organization (pharma, life science is a plus), with 1-3 years in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field with MS or MBA and/or CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Advanced skills and experience with planning and analytics tools such as Cognos, TM1, One Stream, Tableau, and Power BI
  • Strong knowledge of financial modelling and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proven ability to evaluate and solve complex problems and the strategic implications of different business approaches
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrated success in a similar business partner role
  • Proven ability to evaluate the strategic implications of different business approaches and resolve complex arrangements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook required
  • Must be very detail oriented

Responsibilities

  • Provide finance support to the Canada Sub Region in US-CAN Commercial Business to execute to short and long-term financial and strategic goals
  • Provide analytical and reporting support for the entire US-CAN business, working cross functionally to ensure the business has consistent data and information
  • Support and contribute to the forecast, projections, and budget processes to ensure forecast accuracy
  • Partner with Commercial stakeholders on quote review and Big Deal Review processes to enable insights and provide advice to drive better business decisions including deal negotiating
  • Develop financial models and scenarios for helping identify risks and opportunities to drive ROI of deals/projects/programs
  • Prepare and present clear, concise, and relevant information that advances the dialogue and enables strong business decisions
  • Analyze and interpret investment spend and performance, proactively identifying issues and opportunities and delivering actionable recommendations
  • Manage weekly and monthly performance reporting and produce specific reporting against strategic initiatives where required
  • Lead and support ad hoc analyses and project support as needed
  • Provide ongoing training and insights to enhance financial acumen of the Sub Region
