About The Position

Implements procurement initiatives to optimize Walgreens' cost of goods for brand pharmaceuticals. Provides support to high-priority initiatives focused on evaluating, creating, implementing, and refining opportunities to optimize product and service cost of goods (COGs) through procurement and operational programs. Supports Director of Brand Rx Procurement to build external partnerships and develops tools and processes to enhance profitability, ensuring alignment with Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) strategies.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience Pharmaceutical/Pharmacy industry experience.
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or experience with inventory management/supply chain analytics and finance modeling
  • Experience in Retail or pharmaceutical contracting
  • Experience communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one, to groups) and in writing (emails, letters, reports, presentations) to various audiences (work group, team, company management, external clients).
  • Experience using business analytic skills including facilitating requirements sessions and documenting activity workflows and business requirements.
  • Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with internal and external teams to prepare and launch new and existing products (such as new brand launches).
  • Monitors contract performance and work with teams to execute actions to be compliant with contract terms and meet performance requirements.
  • Works with internal teams on product item management including set up and replenishment.
  • Manages daily vendor relationships such as obtaining product status, resolve store issues and finance/AP reconciliation.
  • Works with internal teams and vendors on analysis, communication and timely seasonal product returns to receive full credit.
  • Identifies and executes opportunities such as stocking incentives and synergies with the vendors.
  • Facilitates finance and AP issue resolution between internal teams and vendors.
  • Conducts analysis using purchase and inventory data to effectively execute stocking initiatives to drive administrations.
  • Works cross-functionally to analyze and recommend strategies that optimize pharma contract terms and inventory management processes.
  • Develops analytic insights into specific business groups, translating business goals into analytic strategies to support objectives.
  • Responsible to help define and translate business goals into an analytic strategy that will drive action and support business unit leader(s) objectives.
  • Designs periodic and provides ad hoc reporting to improve purchasing power and inventory management.
  • Identifies root causes of performance issues and ensures quality assurance.
  • Provides project management support for business unit’s objectives by identifying, executing, and tracking benefits of value-added projects.
  • Identifies projects, articulates value proposition, identifies systems and processes to be addressed and how, formulates the benefit case, involves the appropriate departments, manages the execution and completion, and measures the impact upon implementation.
  • Creates, updates and reviews with management, teamwork plans and progress.
  • Identifies and leads projects by defining goals, formulating benefit cases, managing execution, and measuring impact.
  • Responsible for providing various ad hoc data requests to internal and external management teams.
