About The Position

Tyson Foods, Inc. has an opening for Sr. Automation and Robotics Engineer in Springdale, AR. Visit plant locations to learn and understand the production processes; identify and document automation opportunities. Assess the financial and efficiency impacts of these opportunities and design solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders in operations and technology teams and develop cost-benefit analysis procedure. Create proof of concept solutions that can be demonstrated and tested to drive efficiency, worker safety, and financial returns, leveraging modern technologies such as IoT, Machine Learning, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence. Lead vendor solutioning evaluation, working closely with large scale vendors to ensure Tyson Foods is getting a highly scalable and rapidly available solution. Work with Mechanical and Electrical teams and Software Engineers to design and integrate production hardware and software. Design, validate, and execute appropriate test methods to address system design and performance issues. Use complex problem-solving skills, facilitate enhanced collaboration across functional groups, and support development efforts for current manufacturing hardware and new system development. Partner with industry leading technology companies and emerging technology startups to source and apply the new technologies. Use multiple project management strategies to drive projects forward. 25% Domestic and international travel required.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in manufacturing and automation.
  • Must have work experience with: Data analytics and trend analysis via Excel or Power BI; Industrial robotics, communication protocols, and programming experience with PLCs and FANUC; Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) applications for manufacturing; Predictive maintenance models, process optimization models, anomaly detection models, and set point optimization models; Autodesk, PBI, SQL, Python, and Inventor; Working with large data sets in Google Cloud Platform (GCP); and Machine and Computer Vision applications focused on quality inspection using segmentation and object detection techniques.
  • 25% Domestic and international travel required.
