This role elevates existing people, culture, and communication efforts—bringing greater clarity, consistency, and focus to how priorities are shared and experienced across the organization. Partnering closely with the Global Impact Leadership Team and stakeholders across the function, this role translates strategy into meaningful team moments, clear actions, and effective communication channels. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, an enterprise mindset, and the confidence to recommend improvements—continually refining what exists while introducing new ideas that better serve Global Impact and the broader McDonald’s System. This role is well‑suited for someone who is proactive, thoughtful, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, while remaining deeply collaborative.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Proven experience in internal communications, strategy, and/or culture‑focused roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading programs requiring complex stakeholder management.
  • Strong passion for creating high‑quality employee experiences.
  • Experience partnering closely with leadership teams and cross‑functional groups.
  • Strategic and forward‑looking, with the ability to translate long‑term vision into clear, actionable steps.
  • Skilled at understanding diverse partner needs and delivering targeted, impactful messages.
  • Builds strong networks across the System, sharing insights and elevating best practices.
  • Connects Global Impact efforts directly to enterprise strategies and platforms.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with confidence engaging large or senior audiences.
  • Comfortable leading with modern communication tools and technologies (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, WebEx).
  • Experience supporting change management or transformation initiatives.
  • Highly self‑directed, with the ability to set priorities, execute, and drive work to completion.
  • Analytical mindset with curiosity to gather data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Adaptable and detail‑oriented in a fast‑paced environment, including handling sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience creating and presenting executive‑level materials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop well‑rounded, informed perspectives on how strategy connects to the employee experience by identifying gaps, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive execution of Global Impact people and culture priorities, including engagement initiatives, ways of working, and team connection.
  • Partner with People and Change teams to ensure coordinated, clear, and aligned delivery of people‑related efforts.
  • Serve as a conduit for team feedback—identifying themes, surfacing insights, and supporting leadership understanding of team needs.
  • Enable leaders with tools, training, and consistent messaging that reinforce culture and engagement priorities.
  • Lead the planning, content development, and execution of key team moments, including: Quarterly Global Impact town halls All‑Impact forums and learning sessions (e.g., Level Up, Impactful Voices, AI Accelerator Hours) Annual and milestone events and celebrations (e.g., TIP Day, year‑end events)
  • Own agendas, storytelling flow, presenter guidance, workback plans, and execution logistics.
  • Continuously refine engagement touchpoints to improve relevance and impact.
  • Lead the Global Impact Culture Team at MHQ, introducing innovative approaches to foster team connection throughout the year.
  • Oversee and evolve internal communication channels to ensure content is timely, accessible, and aligned to priorities (e.g., Teams, @mcd, distribution lists, org charts).
  • Manage intranet content, newsletters, collaboration spaces, and digital communication tools.
  • Ensure communications are intentional, audience‑aware, and reinforce shared understanding.
  • Partner with senior leaders to translate strategy into clear, actionable priorities.
  • Develop leadership‑ready updates, readouts, and discussion materials that support alignment and decision‑making.
  • Provide flexible support on cross‑functional initiatives requiring strategic, communication, or thought‑partner expertise.
