About The Position

The Manager of Aircraft Programs and Records at CommuteAir oversees aircraft maintenance programs and records functions to ensure regulatory compliance, data accuracy, and operational support. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance Programs, this role leads Maintenance Technical Writers and Records Technicians, manages aircraft program revisions, audits, and task card development, and ensures complete and accurate aircraft records throughout the aircraft lifecycle. The position supports aircraft inductions, lease returns, and maintenance planning while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and CommuteAir’s Safety Management System.

Requirements

  • Read, write and speak the English language fluently
  • Previous experience in aircraft maintenance programs, aircraft records management, or a related aviation technical function.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations applicable to aircraft records and maintenance programs, including 14 CFR Part 121.380.
  • Experience with electronic aircraft records systems, electronic technical logs, and MRO systems; experience with AMOS preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation and aircraft maintenance terminology and documentation standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate or higher skill level in Excel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Prior personnel or project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with electronic aircraft records systems, electronic technical logs, and MRO systems; experience with AMOS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and complete computer entries of maintenance actions.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of Maintenance Technical Writers and Records Technicians, including scheduling, training, time-off coordination, and payroll oversight.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of aircraft maintenance records, including airframes, engines, components, accessories, and propellers.
  • Oversee aircraft records during conformity inspections, aircraft acceptance, inductions, and lease return events.
  • Manage the review, development, and revision of aircraft maintenance programs, task cards, and Maintenance Program Manuals in accordance with manufacturer requirements and Company policies.
  • Conduct and oversee aircraft records audits to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Company procedures, and Safety Management System requirements.
  • Analyze maintenance data and MRO system entries to identify errors, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate maintenance program changes with Maintenance and Maintenance Planning to ensure proper scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Ensure timely completion of document requests, research, and records reviews.
  • Support and fulfill Safety Management System responsibilities as defined in the Company SMS Manual and 14 CFR Part 5.
  • Adjust work schedules as needed to support training, shift coverage, projects, and operational demands.
