About The Position

The Manager of Accounting oversees the daily operations of assigned accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and consistent adherence to accounting policies. This role supervises an accounting team, supports day-to-day operations and month-end close, partners across the organization on financial matters, and contributes to process improvements and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Strong background in month-end close with exposure to financial reporting and GAAP compliance.
  • Experience in corporate accounting for a mid-size or large companies preferred.
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Workday) and Excel.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks and operate in fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, integrity, and continuous-improvement mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in corporate accounting for a mid-size or large companies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily accounting activities focusing on all content related accounting, operations, ancillary revenue streams, fixed assets, and monthly accruals.
  • Perform monthly internal controls and maintain documentation.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual audit schedules and maintain documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with GAAP and accounting policies.
  • Support ad hoc projects and analysis as requested.
  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close of assigned accounting functions.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies in assigned areas.
  • Identify and drive improvements in accounting systems, processes, and reporting capabilities for assigned areas.
  • Partner with IT on ERP enhancements, integrations, or system implementations.
  • Collaborate with FP&A on budgets, forecasts, and financial modeling.
  • Coordinate with FP&A on budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual comparisons and business insights.
  • Provide data, insights, and recommendations around assigned areas to management to support business decisions.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coach direct reports and staff.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct reviews, and guide career progression.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous innovation.
