Join the Mammography Team at Logan Health! Location: Logan Health – Kalispell, Montana Shift: Day Shift – 8 Hours | Full Time – 40 Hours Logan Health is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy professional to join our Radiology team as a Mammography Information Systems Specialist . In this vital role, you’ll serve as the connection between technology, data, and patient care – ensuring our mammography systems run smoothly, records are accurate, and Radiologists are supported to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients. Requirements

  • 2+ years of clinical, health information, or quality services experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn additional software as needed.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical, health information, or quality services experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, and statistics.
  • Experience supporting Radiologists or imaging departments in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with mammography workflows or the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
  • Knowledge and understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and statistics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter mammogram information into designated systems as dictated by Radiologists.
  • Monitor the flow of unread mammograms and assist Radiologists with prioritization and workload management.
  • Provide system support and troubleshooting, partnering with Radiologists and other stakeholders to implement updates and improvements.
  • Coordinate with Imaging Medical Records to ensure prior exam films are available for Radiologist comparison.
  • Verify patient information before exams and conduct post-exam reviews to ensure proper uploads and billing per protocol.
  • Generate and maintain audit reports in compliance with Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements.
  • Review statistical data for accuracy in preparation for FDA inspections and departmental reporting.
  • Proofread dictated reports for accuracy and correct medical terminology usage.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Mammography team as needed.
  • Accurately inputs patient mammogram information into identified system as Radiologist dictates.
  • Assists Radiologists with questions and/or issues.
  • Monitors the flow of unread mammograms and assists the Radiologist with flow, volume, and identifying priorities.
  • Assists Radiologists and staff with system questions, problems, etc.
  • Works with Radiologists and identified stakeholders to implement system changes.
  • Works with Imaging Medical Records to ensure timely arrival of prior exam films for Radiologist comparison.
  • Reviews patient information for scheduled exams to ensure accuracy.
  • Completes post exam reviews to ensure appropriate upload and charges per department protocol.
  • Prints department audit reports for Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) as requested.
  • Reviews statistics and ensures accuracy for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) inspection.
  • Creates and analyzes statistical data and reports to leadership as it relates to department goals.
  • Proofreads dictated reports ensuring accuracy.
  • Reviews reports to ensure correct usage of required terminology.
  • Provides administrative support per department protocol.
