The Maintenance Worker performs basic daily maintenance of building or complex of buildings, equipment, and grounds as well as, performs minor repairs and installations, and reports observed facility needs or issues to the Office Manager. The Maintenance Worker also oversees the maintenance and upkeep of agency vehicles. This position will support maintenance in Carpentersville, Palatine & Schaumburg locations.

Requirements

  • A year of related maintenance experience required.
  • Proficiency in use of hand and electrical tools required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Completes minor repairs and installations, such as replacing faucet washers, replacing electric switches and outlets, replacing light bulbs, repairing window screens, installing curtain rods, tightening cabinet hardware, touch-up painting, and other basic facility maintenance throughout complex.
  • Observes facility conditions and reports safety concerns or needed repairs to Office Manager.
  • Responsible for driving Agency vehicles to vendors for servicing and cleaning.
  • Provides support to and building access for vendors for larger projects.
  • Responsible for unpacking and storing all deliveries as assigned, and assembling furniture.
  • Completes minor clean-up during the day as needed to supplement efforts of contracted cleaning service providers, including sanitization of high-touch indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Assists with distributing salt on icy exterior walkways and driveways during regular business hours as needed.
  • Sets up meeting spaces, including chairs and tables, as needed.
