About The Position

Requirements

Ability to understand, follow and/or provide verbal and written instructions or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid Oklahoma Driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Selected applicant must obtain Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License, Class B with air brakes, within one (1) year of employment.
Knowledge of hand and power tools.
Knowledge of maintenance and construction work.
Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous of fellow employees and citizens while performing duties.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) and heavy (50-75 lb.) supplies, materials, and debris frequently.
Work requires continued walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
Selected applicant must have a telephone where he/she may be reached and pass a background investigation, physical examination and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Performs janitorial duties.
Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors, dusts, cleans bathrooms, and empties trash containers.
Assists with the striping and marking of streets.
Installs new traffic signs; maintains existing traffic signs.
Assists with temporary traffic control for special events, worksites, and emergencies; operates posthole digger to install new signs.
Assists with the collection of data for traffic studies.
Inspects equipment for safety hazards before use.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as needed.
Works in a manner safe to the individual and public.
Keeps work area clean and safe.
Follows safety rules.
Uses safety equipment as required.
Performs related duties as required.
