About The Position

The City of Saratoga Springs currently has an opening for a Maintenance I, II, or III – Streets, this is a full-time position with the Saratoga Springs Public Works Department of approximately 40 hours per week. This position is under the general supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director – Infrastructure and will work directly under the Streets Supervisor. The Public Works Department will try to provide the successful applicant with opportunities to grow and progress within the department. This position is responsible for assisting in the ongoing operation and maintenance of the City's storm drainage systems and streets throughout the City. This position also functions as one of the City's principal "on-call" employee for after-hours emergencies related to areas of responsibility and snow plowing.

Requirements

  • Maintenance I: A High School Diploma or GED
  • Maintenance II: A High School Diploma or GED Two (2) years of experience working with storm water systems and/or street maintenance; or an equivalent combination of job-related education and experience.
  • Maintenance III: A High School Diploma or GED Four (4) years of previous experience in storm water systems and/or streets maintenance; or an equivalent combination of job-related education and experience.
  • Maintenance I: Storm Water Inspector certification within twelve (12) months of hiring. OSHA Confined Space Certification. OSHA Trench Safety Training. First Aid and CPR Certification. Must possess a valid Utah CDL class A Driver's License, with a Tanker endorsement or be able to obtain one within 6 months
  • Maintenance II Must possess a valid Utah CDL class A Driver's License, with a Tanker endorsement or be able to obtain one within 6 months First Aid and CPR Certification. Registered Stormwater Inspector certification within twelve (12) months of hiring. Flagger Certification. OSHA Confined Space Certification. OSHA Trench Safety Training. Sweeper operator competency. Equipment training and competency. City Works work order documentation. Bobtail/10 wheeler training. LTAP Road Scholar. LTAP Equipment/Safety/Operation training certifications. Vactor Truck Operator/Tanker Endorsement. Roller/Loader/Backhoe (Basic Skills) Training.
