About The Position

This role will be located on-site at Talbott Vineyards Equipment Maintenance & Repair Troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery Replace defective parts and test equipment to ensure it meets specifications Inspect, calibrate, and adjust instruments and equipment to maintain operating standards Service pumps, drive system components, and shop machinery Winery-Specific Equipment Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on bottling lines, filtration equipment, and barrel processing equipment Maintain and repair crush pit equipment including de-stemmers and presses Electrical, Plumbing & Fabrication Perform basic electrical installations including wiring and conduit per company, state, and federal regulations Perform basic plumbing and piping operations Operate machining tools, drill presses, and perform basic welding Facilities & General Maintenance Conduct and document routine facility inspections Provide general maintenance support across departments Maintain shop tools, equipment, and cleanliness standards Safety & Compliance Follow and promote all shop safety and housekeeping practices Operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment safely Respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed Other Interpret technical documents including manuals and prints Identify and act on continuous improvement opportunities Drive to various winery sites to retrieve parts, supplies, and equipment as needed Document all repairs and maintenance activities

Requirements

  • High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 1 year of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, industrial mechanical or automotive environment.
  • Required to complete and maintain certifications as assigned.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Depending on work location may be required to work a rotating shift/schedule throughout the year (day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
  • Required to conduct work at heights.
  • Required to lift and carry tools and equipment that weighs up-to 50 pounds.
  • Required to work in a tight and confined space.
  • Required to provide own basic hand tools.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 3 years of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Industrial trade experience to include Refrigeration and HVAC.
  • Skilled in forklift and aerial lift operation.
  • Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of drinking water and waste water systems.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing large production equipment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
