Requirements

  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Working knowledge of tools and machines including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, plows, and small hand tools.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
  • Ability to use creativity in problem-solving.
  • Visual acuity to operate machines including lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Frequently lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally pushing minimum of 100 lbs. such as equipment/machines/appliances.
  • Occasionally climbs up or down ladders.
  • Frequently bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking, as job may require.
  • Visual acuity is required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Surveys buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
  • Performs maintenance of electrical systems, including but not limited to replacing light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair production machines.
  • Maintains heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
  • Inspects alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedules repairs when needed.
  • Performs manual repairs when necessary such as fixing locks, fixing a sink, installing or fixing a light fixture etc.
  • Undertakes activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.
  • Conducts general upkeep procedures, including but not limited to landscaping, painting, carpentry, vehicle maintenance etc.
  • Operates and maintains company vehicles and forklifts, WAVES, and general warehouse machinery.
  • Implements preventative maintenance measures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
