Maintenance Technician – JLL What this job involves: As a Maintenance Technician at JLL, you will play a critical role in maintaining the physical integrity and operational functionality of commercial or residential buildings. Your primary purpose is to ensure building systems operate efficiently, facilities remain safe and comfortable, and maintenance issues are resolved promptly. This position directly contributes to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services and creating optimal environments for our clients and their occupants.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of building maintenance experience in commercial facilities, multi-family residential properties, or industrial settings
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical systems, plumbing systems and fixtures, and HVAC operations and maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor including lifting 50+ pounds, standing for extended periods, and working on ladders
  • Good communication abilities for interacting with tenants, management, and team members
  • OSHA safety training certification
  • Flexibility to respond to emergencies and work varied schedules, including on-call availability

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections of building systems and equipment, executing preventive maintenance schedules to avoid equipment failures and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment, including plumbing issues (leaks, clogs, fixture problems), electrical problems (lighting, outlets, switches), and building components (doors, windows, locks, hardware)
  • Monitor heating and cooling systems, change filters, perform basic HVAC maintenance, and adjust thermostats and building controls for optimal comfort
  • Maintain common areas, grounds, and building exteriors while performing minor carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs
  • Conduct daily rounds to identify potential problems before they escalate and respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations, maintain fire safety systems and emergency equipment, and address safety hazards immediately
  • Document all maintenance activities and repairs performed, maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for daily operations
