The maintenance personnel is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of the buildings, grounds, outside facilities, automobiles, forklifts, and all production equipment and machines. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Read and understand equipment service manuals, drawings, and instructions. Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment. Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts. Operate cutting torch and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Listen for unusual sounds from machining or equipment to detect malfunction and diagnose problems or repair machinery. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repair or replace defective parts. Lubricate and clean parts. Repair electrical equipment. Know troubleshooting (problem-solving) procedures. Test and service each piece of equipment and machinery plant-wide. Follow lockout/tag-out procedures when servicing electrical and mechanical equipment. Clock in and clock out using computer timekeeping software. Contribute to team effort by working with others and accomplishing related functions as needed. Complete any task as assigned by the supervisor as needed. Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures. Work overtime as necessary. Attend work as required. Arrive for work on time. On-call as needed. Work by oneself without constant supervision, be self-motivated, and complete job assignments on time. Care for tools and equipment. Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working correctly. Clean work area as required.
