About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years’ experience in maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, or painting.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to understand test equipment and diagrams.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs frequently and 25–50 lbs regularly.
• Compassionate, patient, and professional when assisting residents.
• Dependable and safety-minded.
• Enjoy working on a team that makes a difference every day.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school or certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance across assigned campus areas.
• Repair buildings, fixtures, furniture, appliances, HVAC systems, plumbing, and small electrical components.
• Complete maintenance work orders promptly and accurately.
• Monitor outside contractor work for quality and safety.
• Report unusual occurrences or damages to the Maintenance Manager.
• Provide on-call and weekend maintenance coverage as scheduled.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean condition.
• Work cooperatively with teammates to support community operations.
• Follow all safety and emergency procedures per Epworth Villa policies.
• Assist with snow removal and seasonal duties as needed.
