Position Summary We are looking for an experienced maintenance worker to join our maintenance department. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for inspecting and performing basic repairs on various machines and equipment, such as Burning Tables, Grinders and Mill Machines, Overhead Cranes and more. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a maintenance role, and be highly skilled with various hand powered tools, read blueprints and repair manuals, electrical and mechanical knowledge, and exceptional time management skills. This position will train on 1st shift, then move to an off shift (2nd shift or 3rd shift) to maintain the maintenance needs of the operation. Conduct routine inspections of machines, equipment, and premises. Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment to prevent production downtime. Handle basic repairs. Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary. Diagnose mechanical issues and ensure they are corrected in a timely fashion. Operate all equipment and machinery in a safe manner, according to appropriate procedures. Ensure the safe handling and storage of volatile supplies. Other duties as assigned. Exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This a physically demanding position; maintaining the physical strength to lift materials up to 50lbs. Endure prolonged standing, ability to climb ladders, crouch and kneel; and work in tight spaces.
