The Maintenance Technician at Hotel Effie, Autograph Collection plays an essential role in ensuring the hotel’s facilities are well-maintained and fully functional. This position is responsible for performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of equipment, systems, and property grounds to provide a safe, comfortable, and appealing environment for guests and employees. Position Summary:  The Maintenance Technician at Hotel Effie is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs to ensure all guest areas, equipment, and hotel facilities are operating optimally. This role is essential in upholding the hotel’s standards for safety, comfort, and overall guest satisfaction. Duties include general repair, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of a variety of systems, with a commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or vocational training in maintenance-related fields preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, ideally in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on hotel property including guest rooms, public areas, back of the house, and equipment.
  • Perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC repairs to maintain high operational standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance needs or complete scheduled tasks that enhance the guest experience.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and repair requests with urgency and professionalism.
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedules and document all work activities accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Assist with maintenance projects as assigned, including renovations, improvements, and seasonal tasks.
  • Utilize and maintain tools and equipment effectively, following hotel policies and procedures.
