About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains a wide variety of industrial equipment, machines, and assemblies. The person in this position also diagnoses problems and makes necessary repairs and/or adjustments to equipment and machinery within the facility. This is a second shift position (3 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and overtime and weekend work may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician or similar position
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal
  • Able to work second shift and weekends
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and systems

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with schematics, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment minimizing downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and or other issues as needed.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements per company or manufacturing guidelines to ensure all equipment is in good working conditions.
  • Operate any machine or machine tool in the machine shop and complete any job on these machines as required.
  • Examine machinery and equipment for defects in operation and remove, repair, and replace defective parts.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with other teams to complete assigned tasks and projects.
  • Using micrometers, make fits on and replace bearings, as well as other machine parts, to specified tolerances.
  • Make minor electrical repairs when the electrician is not available.
  • Order parts and maintain a consistent preventive maintenance program.
  • May be asked to train others if needed.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective and safety equipment and devices that are required and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures and bring to the attention of the supervisor any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on forklifts.
  • Drive forklift as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
