About The Position

This position supports the maintenance and operation of Skechers corporate offices to ensure all building systems operate safely and efficiently. The role involves servicing electrical, HVAC, and environmental systems while following safety protocols and responding to maintenance requests. The Maintenance Technician will handle general maintenance tasks, help manage tools and equipment inventory, and perform repairs ranging from lighting fixes to minor construction work. This position requires working with maintenance management software and keeping accurate records while maintaining clean and safe work areas. Additionally, the role provides exceptional customer service to employees and vendors throughout all maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or related field preferred
  • Technical certification or trade school training in relevant areas (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) preferred
  • Proficiency in basic general maintenance duties
  • Solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems
  • Familiarity with CMMS or similar maintenance management software
  • Basic understanding of building automation systems
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Strong communication skills in written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks safely
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work across multiple corporate buildings with varying systems and requirements
  • Schedule flexibility for occasional evening, weekend, or emergency call-out work
  • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and basement areas

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance schedules and respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests across all corporate buildings
  • Maintain electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building lighting, mechanical, plumbing, and control components
  • Maintain proper HVAC operation during seasonal changes and recalibrate controls to ensure energy-efficient performance
  • Monitor and maintain optimal building conditions for occupant comfort and equipment performance
  • Support construction projects through surface preparation, painting, minor drywall repairs, and wood trim repair
  • Learn, understand, and comply with fire, safety, and other emergency practices while keeping supervisors informed of any unsafe conditions
  • Assist in emergencies as needed while following established protocols and procedures
  • Maintain and safely operate hand and power tools along with other materials required for repair and maintenance tasks
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support work performance and drive process consistency
  • Record all pertinent data in building logbooks and make daily entries to maintain accurate maintenance histories
  • Respond in a professional, prompt, polite, and helpful manner when dealing with team members, colleagues, and vendors
  • Work directly with building leadership and vendors to ensure continuous building operations and minimize downtime
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies to ensure minimal downtime
  • Return all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition upon completion of tasks
  • Participate in training and development of job-related skills to maintain compliance with industry standards and company requirements
