About The Position

Maintenance Technician POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production mechanical equipment. Also responsible for facilities equipment and utilities, as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance, operation, and repair of all production related systems and equipment by ensuring: All preventative maintenance is performed at the appropriate interval and is completed by the assigned due dates. All equipment remains in its designed and/or validated state at all times. All equipment is maintained to maximize availability. Work is completed in accordance with SOPs and equipment manufacturer service guidelines.
  • Promptly address mechanical breakdown issues, equipment adjustments, and equipment change outs.
  • Maintain all assigned equipment areas in a constant state of inspection-readiness, including cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
  • Assist in projects for facility modification, capacity expansion, and efficiency improvements.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of project status and recognizes the need to ask for help in order to achieve goals.
  • Employee is at work as scheduled, starts work at the beginning of a shift, is on time to meetings, completes assigned tasks in a timely manner, and works overtime as required.
  • Demonstrates initiative and job knowledge by suggesting ideas, discovering new and better ways of accomplishing goals and finds innovative, well thought-out solutions to problems.
  • Employee knows and follows the Maintenance Department policies and procedures and Scout policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to comply with all plant PPE requirements and safety protocols.
  • Must possess the skills and abilities to work autonomously while conducting routine electrical tasks.
  • Familiar with the handling, operation and safe use of all types of electrical equipment including motors, generators, transformers, rectifiers, switches, circuit breakers, relay, control equipment, communication equipment, electronic and fluid controls, power generation, transmission and distribution system, instruments, panel boards, replacement parts and supplies, wire and cable, insulating materials, etc.
  • Safe and efficient use of electrical maintenance tools and equipment including electrical testing and measuring equipment. Conduit bending and threading equipment, ladders, hoisting and rigging equipment. Hand and power tools common to the trade.
  • Read and work from blueprints, sketches, charts, manuals, wiring and schematic diagrams, and other information and instructions. Maintains records and makes reports as necessary.
  • Fabricate, install, troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, assemble, inspect, test, maintain, lubricate and operate all electrical and electronic equipment and components, air conditioning equipment, fluid controls, cranes, lighting systems and battery powered equipment.
  • Operate cranes, mobile equipment, scissor lifts, and personnel lifts
  • Assist in the upgrade of PM's and lubes through planning.
  • Maintain job continuity.
  • Communicate freely with the technician/supervisor.
  • Always maintain personal and company tools in a safe and usable condition.
