In this role, you will support the repair and maintenance needs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical systems supporting production. We’re looking for a collaborative team member who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service to support the success of the production team.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in equipment maintenance at Vermeer; or associate’s degree in basic trades and one year of similar equipment maintenance experience elsewhere; or equivalent combination of education/experience required; or three years’ experience in similar equipment maintenance elsewhere.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools, volt meters, read blueprints and electrical schematics, write intra-departmental communication, and apply concepts of basic math.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
  • Effective communication with mentors/mentees, peers, internal customers and external suppliers and vendors.
  • Perform basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Successful operation of Thrive, LO/TO authorization, and Electrically Qualified team member certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and accurately record scheduled preventative maintenance procedures on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, hoists, paint systems, machining centers, and weld systems.
  • Create a positive customer experience when working with mentors/mentees, peers, internal customers and external suppliers and vendors.
  • Accurately utilize the maintenance data system Thrive.
  • Perform maintenance functions of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical equipment on a variety of equipment across multiple maintenance systems and serve as a subject matter expert within one to two specific systems, while adhering to safety protocols as an Authorized Lockout/Tagout Team Member and, when applicable, as an Electrically Qualified Team Member.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues on equipment.
