TITLE: Maintenance Technician REPORTS TO: Senior Director Facilities and Security Services CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt/ Hourly POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of all facilities. With a steadfast commitment to the safe installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all equipment, this position embodies the principles of reliability and excellence. Through systematic routine preventive maintenance, the technician ensures efficient, safe and seamless completion of assignments and internal processes, thereby advancing our organizational mission and objectives with purpose and determination. This position requires local travel in own vehicle to perform duties. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, working near moving mechanical parts, and working in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Accomplish a wide range of responsibilities to install and maintain all facility equipment. Deliver prompt and efficient service to clients, staff, and guests concerning maintenance issues. Exhibit strong mechanical skills, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and machine repairs. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders with precision to execute required maintenance and service. Skillfully diagnose maintenance problems, replace or repair parts, test machinery, and implement necessary adjustments. Utilize an extensive array of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment effectively in all duties performed. Proactively identify faulty operations and defective materials, reporting unusual situations promptly while collaborating with supervision. Adhere strictly to safety regulations and maintain clean and organized work areas. Demonstrate the ability to operate a motor vehicle, pass a DMV screening, and be insurable to drive fleet vehicles. Adhere to the maintenance schedule for on-call after-hours emergency responses across all facilities. Ability to take initiative; get things done effectively and efficiently. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, or 4+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, pass a DMV screening, and be insurable to drive our fleet vehicles required.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, email, mobile phone systems, and work order tracking systems such as eSpace.
  • Adheres to all workplace and safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices.
  • Familiar with building codes and safety requirements.
  • Ability to identify the appropriate tools, machinery, and/or vehicle to complete assigned work.
  • Ability to work well with a team as well as YWCA clients and guests.
