About The Position

At CommonPlace, we are dedicated to creating vibrant living spaces that foster connection and community. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a vital part of our property management team, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of our properties and ensuring a pleasant living environment for our residents. Our ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and has a commitment to delivering exceptional service while ensuring that buildings and equipment are kept in optimal condition.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, crawl, and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Able to push, pull, lift up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general repairs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills for logging requests and maintenance records.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to resident maintenance requests and issues.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
  • Maintain and update maintenance logs and records, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Work with the Property Manager to prioritize maintenance and repairs based on urgency and budget.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services.
  • Assist with preparation of units for move-ins, including minor renovations and paint touch-ups.
  • Maintain the grounds to ensure clean, safe, and orderly external property conditions.
  • Participate in on-call emergency maintenance rotation as required.
